Wanted to share with you an acoustic version of a song we've previously released, which is "The Sun Lights Up The Moon." Listen here: bnd.lc/SunLightsUpAcoustic
As we all know, the moon doesn't generate its own light, rather it reflects the light of the sun. This song uses that concept as a simile, suggesting that her love is what makes him shine, and vice versa. He is merely a reflection of the light of love of the other person. We love this concept.
The acoustic version is less grandiose, subtler, and more bare bones. It's not a better or worse interpretation of the original so much as a different flavor. The drums in the track are replaced by a "cajon," an acoustic drum that you sit on to play.
Electric guitars and keyboards are substituted for an acoustic guitar for a softer and warmer sound. In the chorus you'll hear the addition of a tambourine shaker to enhance and call out the change to the chorus and to add 16th notes to make the chorus feel a bit faster and bigger and distinct from the verse.
Lu's harmony sits below mine, and adds color and warmth to the main line of the song, "The sun lights up the moon." (Lu has the most beautiful voice of any singer I've ever known)
We love the lyric in the bridge of the song: "There's no before or after, cause I never want to be without you..."
We hope you like this softer, gentler version of "The Sun Lights Up The Moon."

Love, Lies and Fiction is a pop-rock band formed in South Florida and inspired by Nashville’s storied song-writing community. The band set out to capture the timelessness and intimacy of human love-relationships through their songs.
The band recorded songs in two legendary studios: Sound Emporium and Blackbird Studios in Nashville, and worked with renowned mix engineer F. Reid Shippen (Death Cab for Cutie, Cage the Elephant, India Arie).
For the band, every song is a story, a journey that speaks from and to the heart, with lyrics that were slaved over and music that draws on many influences, including Keane, Train, and The Script, among many others. Love, Lies and Fiction songs evoke raw emotion and timeless melodies, equal parts pop and rock guitar riffs, a distinct tenor lead vocal and engaging stories.
