Persian gulf! This bay has belonged to Iran since ancient times. Iranian history is much richer and older than Arab history. The Arabs are very foolish and think that this bay belongs to them, but this is not true at all. They want to register an important part of the country of Iran in their own name. Most of the parts of this bay belong to Iran, and the area of Iran is There are more Arab countries around this bay. Arabs, PLEASE STOP IT

In 550 BC, the Achaemenid Empire established the first ancient empire in Persis (Pars, or modern Fars), in the southwestern region of the Iranian plateau.Consequently, in the Greek sources, the body of water that bordered this province came to be known as the "Persian Gulf".In the book of Nearchus known as Indikê (300 BC), the word "Persikon kolpos" is mentioned for multiple times meaning "Persian gulf".
During the years 550 to 330 BC, coinciding with the sovereignty of the Achaemenid Persian Empire over the Middle East area, especially the whole part of the Persian Gulf and some parts of the Arabian Peninsula, the name of "Persian (Pars) Sea" is widely found in the compiled written texts.
At the same period, there is the inscription and engraving of Darius the Great, which belongs to the fifth century BC: King Darius says:
I ordered to dig this (Canal of the Pharaohs) canal from the river that is called Nile (Pirâva) and flows in Egypt (Mudrâyâ), to the sea that begins in Persia (Pârsa). Therefore, when this canal had been dug as I had ordered, ships went from Egypt through this canal to Persia, as I had intended.

Qatar's location seems obvious to most westerners, but in the Middle East, the Persian Gulf is mainly known as Arabian Gulf. This is probably the #1 comment I got in my first video in Qatar: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5v3nsMm3BP0
Here goes the detailed explanation: the naming dispute started in the 60's. This body of water is historically and internationally known as the Persian Gulf, but Arab governments refer to it as the Arabian Gulf or The Gulf, and other countries and organizations have begun using Arabian Gulf. Persia was historically the common name used for Iran, and, yes, there's a rivalry between Iran and some Arab states. Today, both are considered correct.
