While MatPat has said that Cassieās VANNI mask in the Five Nights at Freddyās Security Breach Ruin DLC is the same as Vanessaās Vanny mask during the main game, this isnāt actually the case. Not only do they look different, and serve different purposes, but the meaning behind Cassieās VANNI mask seems to be deeper than it may look at first glance. After all, Cassieās mask appeared both in FNAF Help Wanted Curse of Dreadbear and in Princess Quest, along with another item, which may have significance for Vannyās connection to the Mimic, William Afton, and Glitchtrap.

This makes the Mimic as William Afton even more terrifying because if the theory is to be believed, the Mimic wasn't "copying " William but LEARNING EVERYTHING STRAIGHT FROM THE SOURCE (William's consciousness or whatever) which to me kinda makes the Mimic another disciple of the Cult of Afton besides Vanny. (On a side rant, it still pisses me off that Vanny was hyped up as a disciple of Afton in Help Wanted and the story seemed to be going the route of William as a dead "religious" figure worshipped by many followers and yet where was Vanny in the next game? No, seriously where was she? Her potential as a reluctant follower of Afton as well as any mention of any "Cult of Afton", which seemed to be where the story was headed and also would've had the added bonus of having William dead but also have his influence still around essentially "always coming back" to be a constant thorn in the side of Fazbear Entertainment, was completely squandered in Security Breach. Anyway rant over, just salty about what could've been had Steel Wool not gutted the story of Security Breach when the theories were close to correct as to what the story was going to be about ( at least that's what I remember hearing happed along with a rushed release date contributing to why Security Breach was the way it was.

I noticed something interesting about the Vanny/Vanni mask in VR and Ruin, they have different designs. The one in Ruin has a stitching like design around the brown side while the one in VR doesnāt. Maybe the Vanni mask was made by Vanny because her suit has stitching as well. It was something interesting I noticed. Also, this theory about the Vanni mask and Plush representing different forces makes sense when it comes to freeing Vanessa. Good job š

When I first saw the Vanny mask in Ruin, I automatically notice the difference and compared it to the help wanted one. Great theory!

This actually makes more sense than most of the other theories Iāve seen.
Itās also nice to see someone acknowledge the fact that the masks are not the same, Ive seen quiet a few theories where people say or imply that the mask in ruin is the mask that is left behind in fazer blast in the princess quest ending despite there being noticeable differences.

Makes you wonder why Vanessa doesnāt use, or need the mask anymore. Maybe because Willain/the Glitchtrap Virus already had enough of a hold the mask just wasn't required anymore?

Not related but about The Blob/Tangle;
I think its an amalgamation of all the animatronics/electronics in Pizzeria Simulator for a reason: Cassidy/Golden Freddy.
As he says possesing Orville, despited Henry's atempt of freeing everyone, he wasn't going to let that happen. Cassidy created William Afton's purgatory and its represented physically by the Blob/Tangle(which probably has Scraptrap within its body).
Also, i think why Cassidy seems to have so much power to force everyone's souls in one place is because Gloden Freddy was never found and destroyed, as hinted at in UCN. If Golden Freddy is anything like Springtrap, then he's probably hidden in sealed off room in an abandoned location. I think this needs to be addressed so that everyone can be set free.

Ooo this makes absolute sense and I'm so glad you made this theory, personally I thought that Steel Wools we're just lazy and didn't look back at security breach for the mask (I don't hold steel wools very highly rn) But this makes a lot more sense!! I also like the idea that Glitchtrap was both William AND the mimic because either one just didn't really make sense!! I also wonder if it's only partly William in glitchtrap, is it possible another part is still in UCN? Considering it seems like Cassidy doesn't seem to actually have to be there present for William to continue being tormented as seen by old man consequences line of āleave the demon to his demonsā? Idk just a random thought I had but either way great short!

One thing Iām interested to know/find out is if the mimic is more āI rip limbs off because Iām programmed to do that to endosā (evil ai) or āIām actively malicious because one of springtraps circuit boards got scanned and I picked up on Willyās homicidal tendenciesā (more evil than just a misunderstanding robot).
