Just a week before Christmas Day, #JoannaWright was heading about her day before she was abducted. On December 18, around 1:45 pm Joanna was last seen being forced into a blue Mazda with Ohio license plates by three or four unidentified men. She was screaming for help during the abduction and attempted to fight off her attackers, but witnesses say got the upper hand and were able to overpower her. The car sped off, and Joanna hasnât been seen or heard from since. Joanna Wright worked as a hairstylist in her community. She was very popular in her neighborhood and well-liked. At the time of her disappearance, Joanna was described as being 5 feet 2 inches tall and 100 pounds. Investigators attempted to locate Joanna by tracking her cell phone, but they were unable to retrieve any information regarding her whereabouts. Her family and community activist are still fighting to bring her home.
At the time of her disappearance, Joanna was described as being 5 feet 2 inches tall and 100 pounds. She had brown eyes and long brown locs to the middle of her back with red dyed tips. Sheâs known to go by the nicknames Jojo, Jino, or Duwop. Joanna has numerous tattoos that cover her chest, arms, and hands. Some include words like âLonda,â âJoseph,â âMary,â and âD-UNIT.â
The car Joanna was thrown into during her kidnapping is reported to be a newer model blue Mazda with Ohio license plates. Investigators attempted to locate Joanna by tracking her cell phone, but they were unable to retrieve any information regarding her whereabouts. In addition, Joanna isnât the only person to go missing from the Marquette Park area during that time. Marlo Gulley, a 26-year-old friend of Joannaâs, went missing in October 2017. Another acquaintance, 20-year-old Shante Bohanon, was also listed as a missing person in July 2016 until her body was found stuffed in a garbage can on the Far South Side of Chicago. Community activists in the area believe that all three cases are linked but authorities havenât made that claim publicly. âNot knowing anything. Thatâs what hurts,â said Joannaâs sister Valencia Harrison.

I know i should have said something. I used to live in Steger, Illinois. This was about 20 years ago. I got off the metra near there once with my brothers and I started to feel sick. So I sat on the steps and asked one brother to stay with me and the other to get the car. When my brother tried to leave the parking lot to get the car, the gate broke and he couldn't leave. As he had that issue and the crowd thinned my brother and I noticed a man asking a lovely young Black woman questions about the train and the stops. She explained if he missed his stop to just wait for the train to come back. He acted as if he didn't understand. And was saying how his friends will not know where to pick him up. He also kept looking at us. Finally she said she had to go and left. Then this van parked nearby pulled up and the man got in, the van had been there the whole time and in plain sight. As soon as this happened, the gate mysteriously opened so my other brother could pick us up. God was watching out for that young lady. But we should have turned that van in, but we weren't thinking on that level. You see, there is a serial piller in the South burbs of Chicago that hunts beautiful Black and Latina women. It could just as easy be a group of men as well. Be careful out there and if you see something say something. I so regret not thinking fast enough to get the plates off that van.

There was another young lady who went missing in the same neighborhood before Joanna's kidnapping. And Joanna's male friend went missing about a year later. He met some female online and went to meet her. In the very same neighborhood. All three of them were friends. Sadly, the young lady that went missing before Joanna was found murdered inside of a garage. Seems to me that they were all related

Nobody got the license number, and there's no cameras around any story or nothing like that.
