In the new upcoming Tales from the Pizzaplex book, Tiger Rock, we get some more info on the Mimic and how it could relate to Burntrap. However, I think people are taking one piece of potential evidence we've received and are ignoring a pretty major detail when they say that Kelly is actually the corpse on Burntrap. Namely, the fact that the theory that Mimic is trying to be William Afton doesn't actually work at all since it isn't copying him.

Maybe Scott should release a book after the last FNaF game which explains the entire lore of FNaF.

The 2nd story of Tiger Rock (The Monty Within) kinda confirms how much of TFTPP we can actually trust because of it saying Orville comes from the game "Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator." Which is absolutely not canonical because FFPS would just be the throwing pizza minigame in-universe and since the FFPS location appears in SB then that means that not everything in TFTPP is canon. I just wanted to talk about this because a lot of people just accept TFTPP as 100% canon when only the mimic (and other stuff that idk about because I'm not that up to date with the books) are canon.

I love the Mimic and the more and more we get to learn about it, the more I really hope it doesn't turn out to be Burntrap. I want the book mimic in game, not one trying to copy Afton.
