Tea parties are all about being fancy, but you know you don't necessarily have to spend a ton of money to still have fun at a tea party. Local thrift stores, grandma's hand me-downs, or inexpensive stores as "Dollar Tree" and "Five Below" have amazing things that with some ingenuity can be "fancied up" for the big event.
In this video I'll show you how I created a three- tier tray, out of materials I already had in hand. I was able to find a plate set at a thrift store, and they were willing to sell the pieces individually. That together with some inexpensive glass candleholders from Dollar Tree that I already had, was all I needed to create this tray. There's a lot of flexibility here, as you can also add 2 candleholders back to back and make the tray even taller.
I usually prefer not to make this kind of thing permanent, to store it more easily and have more flexibility for the future, but if you want to make it more permanent you can always use E-6000 to glue each piece together. You can also use hot glue of course, which can come apart later with some moderate force. My preferred method though is to use candle or "quake" wax, as it holds well, and can easily come apart.
Having a tea party is a great idea for the upcoming warmer months, and works well for a bridal or baby shower, birthday party, or even Mother's Day brunch.
