I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving! And to anyone outside the US, happy Thursday.
If you're out shopping for new camera gear right now for black Friday, I wish you all the best luck! And when you find that new gear, what better way to put it to good use than joining me on a workshop, which are all discounted for black Friday (until Dec 4th)
Use the code GETOUTSIDE for my Scotland workshop or my Private Bosque Winter Birding workshops and join me for some awesome photography and fun!
Oh, and my presets are also on sale right now too. 😃😁
Here's a picture I took of an elusive Abert's squirrel recently, which made me very happy, along with a couple from my Scotland and bosque workshops.
I hope you have a great weekend filled with epic shopping deals, leftovers, and some outside time!

I finally dropped a new video!
So I've had a lot of things going on behind the scenes in my life lately (I made a long channel members video about it). Needless to say I haven't been posting enough lately, and hopefully that'll change moving forward, starting with today's video. It was super fun to make. Here's a few images from it. The last one is my favorite... Also, it was 18 degrees F out there and I managed to get camera lady to join me on one condition.
Watch it here: https://youtu.be/fdqZ4WIcG4Y

No video this week. I'm too stressed out.
.
On the upside though, I did just add another group and set of dates to my Scotland seabirds and seascapes workshop next May. The new dates are May 26-30 and there are only 3 spots left as of now, so if you missed signing up on the first one and want to join me for an all-inclusive photography retreat then check out my website and go reserve your spot.

I went out very last minute last night to try for the comet. I had zero time to scout for a decent composition, but I still managed to pull something off just in time.
I think I'll go out earlier tonight and try to find a better comp and make a video about how to photograph a comet for this week's video. I'll try to rush it to get it out by tomorrow afternoon so people still have time to watch it and go try for themselves.
For now, here's what I got so far.
Canon R5, 70mm for the yucca shots and 100mm for the cholla (pronounced choiya) shot.

Just a heads up for anyone who's gonna be in the tetons in the next couple of weeks. We're gonna do a meet up here at this photo summit event, so if you want to stop by and say hi. I'll be there.
I'll also be camping in the general Teton area from the 22nd-30th ish, so dm me on ig if you want to meet up while I'm out there.

First shots from my R5II. My setup video for it just dropped today, too, with these images and a couple more.
I'm headed off grid for a couple days to film the first full wildlife video with it. Wish me luck for food conditions and lots of birds.

Featured birds:
Black-throated Sparrow
Rufous-crowned Sparrow
Canyon Towhee
R5II, 500mm f4 mk ii, 1.4 TC
.
Also, that last shot of the Towhee was iso 10000...
