-Explaining my absence and plans for 2025-
What's going on you gooey gamers. I just wanted to stop in here and let ya'll know my plans for 2025! I guess really these are my goals, but I'm gonna make them realistic to my current capabilities and state of mind.
First off; I will be posting more content. (defeating perfectionism)
This year I posted 1 video, 1 video that did really well. And I managed to convince myself the only reason it did well was because I was such a perfectionist about it. I've always had problems with perfectionism in my art, which, as you can tell, doesn't necessarily mean you'll actually make perfect art. Growing up I was someone who was considered exceptionally good at drawing from the people around me, but I only showed people the pieces I deemed perfect. In fact, I wouldn't even start a drawing unless I had the "perfect" vision beforehand. But I'm finally realizing that the best art starts from a 'good enough' idea and evolves as it's being worked on.
So, I guess that's my first goal for this year; I will be posting 5 'good enough' videos.
Now, I do recognize that 5 videos is more than I've posted in the last 3 years, but that's because I've been so blind to my issues with perfectionism and really let it get into my head that past couple years. But before the split screens vid, before I vanished, I was posting videos about every 2 months, and I really believe I'm capable of getting back to that. 5 videos is a vid every 2 months with an additional 2 months of wiggle room since I know this isn't going to be an easy adjustment for me. But it's a necessary one.
At the time, I may have thought I perfected that video, but in honest retrospect, I think that Split Screens vid kinda sucks. Which is great! Knowing a video that I think kinda sucks was still good enough to reach an audience 40x bigger than I'd ever seen before is actually a great feeling. And just proves to me that I don't need to per-FECT these videos, or really even come anywhere near that. So yes, 2025, I will be posting 5 videos. And If I don't, hold me to it! Yell at me in the comments or over on Patreon! External accountability is a huge thing for me and anything I want to get done. Which is why I rarely make these posts, cause I honestly feel ashamed to talk to about anything unless a vid has been dropped recently. So yeah, shit talk me if you aren't seeing enough content from me next year! It'll actually help LOL
Which brings me to the next goal; I will be making monthly updates on Patreon.
Starting in 2025, I will be dropping a monthly update on Patreon, either on the last day of the month or the first day of the next. Just to let you all know where I'm at with my progress on the current vid and any other plans I may have for the channel. And if you follow me there and I give you a progress update that leads you to believe I'm losing the battle to perfectionism, then LET ME HEAR IT. I want to be more involved with the little community I have. The little community that's generously paid me month after month without so much as a fucking life update. Seriously you guys are awesome. Dare I say, sick af, dare I say, big booty baddies, all of ya's.
As far as Patreon tiers go though, I don't currently have any plans to add more tiers. If you want to pay more that's always cool, just know I can't really promise anything more than content updates and having your name in the credits at the moment. That being said, as soon as I'm just working for myself, I will use some of that extra time to supe that place up and give some actual rewards. But yeah, we'll have to wait and see when that'll be (fuckin bars).
And that actually Segways to the NEXT set of goals. A set of goals for when I do achieve financial freedom from my editing gigs. (had to delete that last sentence and replace "if" with "when")
Firstly, I want to start streaming!
As soon as I'm able to start working for myself I'd love to pick up streaming. It won't be anything crazy like some of my friends (like Don Shnack) are doing, so don't expect that. It'll be more laid back stuff, just drawing/animating some pixel art while talking about games for anyone who cares to join :) Maybe I don't actually have to wait till I'm financially free to do that one, but I don't imagine I'll have much free time for drawing that's not related to SlippyBoy with the '5 vids' goal I've made for this year. So, if it's something ya'll are super eager for me to start then just lemme know!
Next, I wanna post shorts.
Currently, shorts are on the backburner since I was influenced by the aforementioned Don who told me I shouldn't be focusing on making shorts unless they take like NO effort for me to make. But that short that I was working on for September was something I was actually putting a LOT of effort into, so I stopped working on it. I might just finish it up and post it anyway if ya'll want me to since it's almost done? But outside of that I won't be picking up shorts until I can either 1; find a way to make it practically effortless (aka defeat my perfectionism) or 2; am living off my own content and have the extra time to spend on stuff like that. But I'll let ya'll know when shorts are back on the menu.
And lastly, this one may not even concern you guys, but I want to start drawing again.
I love drawing/animating Slippy, but I'm a super big enjoyer of fan art. And when I find time to draw something NOT Slippy related, it's unbelievably fulfilling. But, like I keep mentioning, my schedule is gonna be super tight this year, so I'll only fit it in when I'm running low on motivation and need a break from drawing slippy or assets for my editing jobs, which seems to happen about once a year LOL I'm mentioning this to you cuz THIS is the stuff I plan on drawing while streaming... but now that I'm having these thoughts written out in front of me maybe I don't need to wait to start streaming? I guess I'll end this post with a couple questions.
1. Do you want me to start streaming sooner rather than later? Maybe the streams could actually just be me talking to you guys while I animate Slippy vids. Would you be interested in that or would you rather just see me working on fan art? The streams wouldn't be very frequent in that case, but if ya'll are super eager for me to start I could!
2. Should I finish that short from September? It's not some crazy work of art, it's just a little companion piece to the Split Screens vid that talks about the origins of the Dynamic Split Screen. Would you want that short or would you guys prefer I didn't waste any time on it and just focused on the next vid?

Little update for those curious
(TLDR videos are coming 😘)
So I've been working on a script now for about 2 months, which is way longer than I've ever spent on a script before. It's a video that I'm super proud of so far and think everyone will seriously enjoy, but I've realized in the past month or so that I'm putting WAY too much pressure on myself to make this vid perfect since my last video gave me more eyes than I've ever had before. And I'm realizing that perfectionist mentality is not sustainable at all for youtube and hardly even makes sense for me considering MY favorite youtubers really don't seem to take themselves too seriously.
SO after I finish this vid, I'm going to try to chill the fuck out essentially lol
I'll be working on pushing out video ideas that I'm just as excited about, but don't need nearly as much meticulous crafting. This current video is in a structure I've never attempted before and is tackling topics in ways I'm not used to which has really slowed me down. It's been super rewarding to grow as a script maker but I can't try to grow like this with EVERY video, maybe like every 1 in 5 videos. And the videos in between will be me using the skills I already have, instead of trying to get new skills. I think that'll be less stressful for me and give more content to those who care, a win-win.
So yeah next vid is gonna be good (i think) and after that I'll be pushing out easier projects that don't take as much time to make. Really aiming for like 1 vid a month (realistically every 6 weeks) and that way I can work on huge vids in the background instead of putting you all through another slippyboy famine while it's being made.
Thanks to anyone who took the time to read this, I hope y'all are doing good and applying copious amounts of vaseline to stay as slippy as ya boy. And I'll see y'all with a new vid either late this month or early next month.
ALSO ALSO, after I record this script I'm also gonna record some shorts. Some of them will be video essay style but honestly for the most part they're gonna be 1 minute goofy game reviews since that sounds like a lotta fun to me. VIDS RETURNING APRIL 27TH
Just wanna post this as an extra layer of accountability. If you saw my post at the beginning of this year where I was trying to decide whether or not I should scrap my current vid, you may have checked the comments and saw that I said I was going to rework what I've currently got to be something I'm more proud of. Well that vid is finally coming to a close and is going to leave me with a bunch of reusable assets to help get me back on a regular posting schedule! I've got a gazillion ideas in the chamber that I feel will make videos far better than anything I've put out so far. Really feel like this is the true beginning of the channel so I'll see you all then! Hope you're all doin good and playing some Gwimbly for me :)

Alright, a question for everybody who cares:
I've got a video that I wrote almost a year ago and have been using what little time I've had to animate it and get it ready. I'm finally at a point where my schedule allows for me to consistently work on my content so I COULD finish it very soon and get it to you all. Thing is tho, I feel like I've grown a considerable amount as a writer, storyteller, etc. If I were to scrap this and start a new video, I could revisit the topic later and probably have a new different video that better represents my current skillset uploaded in February OR I could push through and finish this video for late Jan/early Feb just to get it out of the way. I'd still be happy to finish this vid, but can't shake the feeling that I should only posting the best content I can make, which this doesn't qualify as. Ayo, it's ya boy slippers, comin back with the latest and greatest disappointing news 😝
To everyone who's been waiting for new content, old fans or new, I want you to know I'm beyond grateful for how patient you've all been. Every new comment I get on my pre-existing videos telling me they can't wait for my return genuinely means the world to me and want you all to know that, even tho I've already been around for 3 years, my channel is only JUST getting started! But first, the disappointing news, I didn't get to upload in October like I wanted to, nor did I in November, and December won't be happening either. BUT, don't sweat, because that video and many more are still coming. I've got SO many videos I'm excited about in the oven, which leads me to the good news. Come this new year, I'll be dropping my current editing work load to focus on SlippyBoy!
My goal for the next year will be to post every month, it may not start that way since this will be a transition I'm making, and transitions can be time consuming. But hopefully by the later half of the year, a monthly long-form vid and a bi-weekly short will be my regular schedule. This past year his been one of the toughest of my life due to my incapability of resisting bigger bites than I can chew. I started freelance editing a year and a half ago so I had a LOT of learning to do about, not just the work, but also myself and how my BRAIN works, and I'm certain that this change in work load will give me the time I'm looking for. So I'll see ya'll in January with a brand new upload (February at the latest) to kick off what will be my year of SLIPPY!~ See ya'll then, take care <3
