Music Therapy Tales was founded by Dr. Kathleen M. Howland, a professor and certified practitioner of music therapy. She started the website in late 2015 in homage to the late Dr. Oliver Sacks, whose stories, she said, "helped us understand disabilities and abilities. Those abilities tended to be musical, and he helped us look through the lens of neurology." Content began to be loaded in earnest onto this YouTube channel, and thence on onto the site, in early 2016, including video interviews with music therapists and some testimonies of patients as well. Whether you're a caregiver, a patient, a music therapist, a physician, a student considering a career in music therapy, or just an interested viewer, welcome!
