Be sure to check out today's video! I am making good progress on the big assemblage piece. The video today is a bit of a "tour" of all the pieces I used and to show you everything glued down and ready for the next (and final) phase - painting and adding some Finnabair metallic waxes. Finally - the fun part! It's always the most fun to see a big piece getting to completion, and loving it, of course. I am not sure where it will end up - it is heavy so hanging on my plaster walls will be a bit of a project in itself. If you have followed this project from the beginning, thanks! If you haven't but would like to see it from the start, just go to my Assemblage playlist to find Phases 1-4. Here's part of what it looks like at this phase, after gluing all the elements in place. Watch today's video here:

to see the rest of the piece.

So I will be creating a new piece of art on the Arteza Folded Frame papers every month. And, every month, someone can win what I have created. It's my way of saying Thank You to my loyal supporters and subscribers.

To be entered into the monthly giveaways, just Subscribe and hit the Notification All bell. When you are notified that the video has uploaded to my channel, come watch the video, give it a Thumbs Up, and leave a Comment about the video. It's easy! Most of you are already doing this, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

These framed papers are so fun to create on, and they turn into a little work of art when you fold them up! See the post below for the link to the first giveaway piece (and some other stuff, too.)

I will choose the winner of this first piece on May 30 and the winner will be announced during the NEXT folded frame art video (about June 10th or thereabouts.) I will repeat this giveaway series from May through October, so you have lots of chances to win! I will try to get the giveaway videos uploaded in the first week of each month.

What style art piece would you like to win?

Want a peek at all the piles of elements I've amassed for this big ole assemblage board? Check out my latest video! I still have some things coming in, so I will start layering and gluing, and painting when that happens. But for now, I've made piles! Oh yeah, the winning lady is pictured in the video also. Check it out and see who made it in! Hint: it's not the one in the video preview below.

Okay! It has started. I just uploaded the Phase 1 video for this huge assemblage I am about to create. I showed you how I prepped the board, and I am asking for your suggestions on which focal point to use. It will be a woman - but which one? It will be helpful for you to watch the video first to get the full explanation of what I plan to do. Then, you tell me - which one? Click the thumbnail below if you don't see the full image.

I am getting excited about this big assemblage piece I am planning. I have ordered a few pieces to add to it. I found some focal images to consider. And I have painted and added some texture paste to my big board, which I think used to be a shelf in my grandmotherā€™s china cabinet. I went through my boxes, drawers, and bins of old hardware, computer parts, Old game pieces, and other ā€œjunkā€ and pulled out a bunch of stuff to audition. Every time I look around, I see something else that might work. I am going to have to seriously eliminate a lot, but I want to have all the possibilities pulled out when I start this process to get a feel for a ā€œvibe.ā€ I am really thinking steampunk at this point. So, stay tuned for the first video installment soon. I am going to ask you all to help me choose a focal point, which will kind of steer the direction of the design/theme for the piece. Are you into this? I am gonna need your suggestions!

I had an epiphany in my sleep last night! I have just a TON of stuff Iā€™ve saved (hoarded) to use for my assemblage work, which I just donā€™t seem to get to anymore. I also have a bunch of cradled panels waiting to be used. So....I am going to put four panels together (somehow) and then build a dimensional assemblage/collage on them. My intention is to use up A LOT of the ā€˜stuffā€™ (junk, if you will) on this piece. It will take a long time to create, use a lot of glue, and have many layers with drying times.

So, I will film this project for you in parts, as a series. If this sounds intriguing to you, let me know here. Iā€™d love for you to watch this piece take shape over time. Maybe you can even give me some suggestions for where to go with it as I do each part. It can be a sort of collaboration piece that I do with all of you!

In between working on this, I will do my usual videos of art journaling and painting for those who arenā€™t interested in watching this series. Wish me luck...I really hope it turns out great, it you never know!
