Tenere T7 modifications and how they have worked.
Posted some time ago that I had fitted Mitas tyres and was asked how did they cope.well I thought I would wait until I put them to a proper test.
But first let me list what else I have done to her.
Mitas Tyres
Lithium battery
520 chain and sprockets 10% lower
Carbon Kevlar Bash plate
Aluminium crash bars
Smaller fold up levers
k Tech spring change front and rear.
Dimsport fueler system
Pro bolt engine kit
Titanium brake bolts
Huzar high rise pipe and decat down pipes.
Plus a load of CNC bits.
First the weight saving has been in the region of 13 kilos.
Biggest weight saving the battery.
Now after 2000 miles I can tell you this first real off road test elan Valley.
Tyres and suspension were far better than the rider. 84 miles 1 off. Tyres do not like mud no side grip the same is on the road front is vague and feels like tucking under.
But off road rocks shake she tracks like a good one.
Now the real test the Alpes Moto festival. In the French Alps.
Cruising at 80mph for two days the tenere was faultless covering a thousand miles with out issue. Yes the gearing change made it buzzy and fuel consumption suffered. But on the b roads of France she come into her own.
The huzar pipes popping and banging like a big single.
The K Tech suspension money well spent loaded with luggage she is plush soaking up everything French road could give us. Off road big rocks, nice woops never once kicked back at me or bottomed the bash plate out.
Now after 2 days in the French Alps I have really taken to this bike it can do anything you have the nuts to try.
A decent off road blast today confirmed that as we headed out to lake sanges.
Going to take it off road again tomorrow before heading back the 1000 miles.
Been on this bike for at least 7 to 8 hours for 4 days and have another 2 to go am I dreading it hell no going the long way back to Wales.
