The project was born in 2005 by Massimo Masi and Alberto Zimone, the guitars of the band. The first idea was to make a classic death metal but, among several line up changes, it continued as progressive death metal. In 2012 Mauro Tagliavia joins the project as a vocalist, from that moment he starts working on the song's lyrics. In 2014 Ego Divided started recording, but bassist and drummer leave the band forcing the interruption of the recordings. Only two tracks were recorded: Source and Fearless Reason. Finally, in 2018 two new members joined the band: Elio Lao on drums and Alessio Lopes on bass and in 2019/2020 Ego Divided recorded their first album.
The album, called "Ego Divided" was released in 2024.
