Invigorating pibroch, triplepipes, and doublepipes through singing, sleuthwork, and intercultural collaboration
I began producing videos in 2009, originally to demonstrate triplepipes before shipping them to customers. In these I offer tips and tricks, giving a taste of what the instruments are capable of. Some videos are of public performances (such as my collaborations with Indian musicians). Others present research in which video is more effective than writing, supporting arguments and changing what we believe. This is especially the case when the intelligence is fundamentally sonic or muscular. Translating this into graphic form can be ludicrously inefficient, wasting resources and perpetuating misunderstandings. The aulos videos are a journey into the dark, expanding the perimeter of the unknown, now continuing on Lotos Lab's channel (see below).
