Greetings Railfan's! Recently I was asked about monetization so I'll do a general answer here. This channel is Not monetized. I'm doing this for fun and easy access to my videos. I decided to share these videos on the chance that others would enjoy them as well. I thought I might get a few subs and a few views... But, WOW, as of this writing I'm at 693 subs and 141633 total views.
So, as far as I understand YouTube, the ads are not triggered by any settings of mine. If the skip ad button is offered, feel free to skip, I'm not making any money on this. I figure that since YouTube provides and maintains the behind-the-scenes infrastructure to host my videos, a few ads are a small price to pay for easy access.
Enjoy! And Skip...!

Greetings Railfan's! Would you be interested in seeing any videos of model railroad layouts? Or... Should I stick to the 1990's "vintage" videos that I have been posting? Please let me know in the comments. Thanks!

Greetings Railfan's. You may have noticed that I posted two versions of the same video on April 14th. I wanted to see what the difference in quality looked like on YouTube. Please feel free to comment about the resolution (1080p vs 2160p) and frame rate differences (60 vs 30 frames per second). If they look the same to you try checking your settings. I find that YouTube usually gives me 720p and I have to select 1080p or 2160p if I want the higher resolution. Don't worry, we will head back in time to 1994 soon. I don't have any other "current" railfan videos to share... yet. 😎

Greetings Railfan's! Please check out the Playlists section of the channel where I have the videos sorted by railroad. This saves you from looking through hundreds of videos for your favorite railroad. I added three new playlists for specific locations with multiple videos. BN Crawford Hill, Conrail Horseshoe Curve and CSX Sand Patch Grade. Enjoy!!

Greetings Railfan's. Thanks for watching my "vintage" railfan videos. As you may have noticed I have been posting three videos a week. I found that trying to post every day was just too much time at the computer and not enough time doing other necessary things.
Starting Aug 11th are several videos of a trip I took to WV, MD, PA, NJ and OH. These include Cass Scenic, East Broad Top, CSX Sandpatch Grade, Conrail Horseshoe Curve and Amtrak's Northeast Corridor. Enjoy!

Greetings Railfans! This channel is mostly railfan video recorded in standard definition on 8mm videotape with a handheld camera. Looking for your favorite railroad? Check out PLAYLISTS where videos are sorted by railroad and a few locations. Thanks for watching!
These videos may be useful for anyone interested in 1990's model railroading or folks who simply enjoy watching "vintage" railfan videos.
DMU is the AAR railroad reporting mark for the Des Moines Union Railway. It's also the name of my freelanced HO scale model railroad.
The channel picture is the Earth, seen from the Moon on August 21, 2017 during the total solar eclipse. You can't see me in the picture because I'm standing in the shadow. 😎
The dancing date stamp on the videos is caused by video stabilization in the editing software (iMovie) of my not-very-steady handheld camera work.
