‘This Old Guitar’ OUT NOW!!

John Denver was always playing in the car on my family’s road trips out to Colorado every summer so finally getting to cover one of his songs is a dream come true.

This song has always felt like it was autobiographical because during high school I was falling in love with guitar at the same time I was falling in love with the girl that would become my wife. Which leads me to explain the cover art

The dude on the cover is my wife’s grandfather, Frank White. He passed away of cancer a few years before I came into the picture. From the stories I’m told he was a gem of man and a warm soul. A guy’s guy. A dude’s dude. I wish so bad I could have met him.

When I first started dating my wife I would go to her house and see this old guitar case propped up in the corner. It was awhile before I got the courage up to ask if I could open it. When I finally did, I found the guitar that you see there on the cover; an early 1950s Gibson J50. I about fell over.

Over the years, every time I’d go to my wife’s family’s house I would find the guitar and strum for hours. It’s one of the best sounding guitars I’ve ever played. That was until about 2 years ago when my mother in law gave me permission to take it out with me on the road. I haven’t put it down.

Thanks to everyone involved in the making of this song. And I can’t wait for you to get to see this guitar with me out there on the road. Cheers everyone!
