Srimad Bhagwatam 11.1.6-7
भगवान कृष्ण समस्त सौन्दर्य के भण्डार हैं। सभी सुन्दर वस्तुएँ उनसे निकलती हैं, तथा उनका व्यक्तिगत रूप इतना आकर्षक है कि वह अन्य सभी वस्तुओं से आँखें चुरा लेता है, जो तब उनकी तुलना में सौन्दर्यहीन प्रतीत होती हैं। जब भगवान कृष्ण पृथ्वी पर थे, तो उन्होंने सभी लोगों की आँखों को आकर्षित किया। जब कृष्ण बोले, तो उनके शब्दों ने उन सभी के मन को आकर्षित किया, जिन्होंने उन्हें याद किया। भगवान कृष्ण के पदचिह्नों को देखकर लोग उनकी ओर आकर्षित हुए, तथा इस प्रकार वे अपने शारीरिक कार्यों को भगवान के अनुयायियों के रूप में उन्हें अर्पित करना चाहते थे। इस प्रकार कृष्ण ने बहुत आसानी से अपनी महिमा का प्रसार किया, जिसे सबसे उदात्त और आवश्यक वैदिक छंदों द्वारा पूरे विश्व में गाया जाता है। भगवान कृष्ण ने सोचा कि इन महिमाओं के श्रवण और कीर्तन मात्र से भविष्य में जन्म लेने वाले बद्धजीव अज्ञान के अंधकार से पार हो जायेंगे। इस व्यवस्था से संतुष्ट होकर वे अपने इच्छित गंतव्य की ओर प्रस्थान कर गये।
