There's nothing worse than reading a recipe that skips over all the important parts for us beginner chefs to be. I certainly didn't know the difference between a shallot and an onion nor the difference between dicing and slicing. Sometimes it's good to see someone else who has no idea what they're doing try something first so you can avoid making their mistakes. I am that test hamster.
