1.21.5 is truly the Ambient upda-I mean drop.🥹

What if we can milk sheep when they add those variants? 🤔

Now that sheep has another interaction where they regrow wool by consuming dry grass, they can give more interesting mechanics to older animals to interact with the world around them!

This is a good drop as all the small things make the world feel more lively!

To fully flesh out a diverse natural world, we still need:
- More crops
- New two tall crops
- New crops that are only plantable submerged in water or on tilled mud
- More fruit bushes and vines
- New fruit trees with fruit-filled leaves or hanging fruit growths (like mangrove propagules)
- New flower bushes and vines
- More bug habitat or infested blocks
- Basket item (for some reason lol)

However — Mojang, more biome vote changes and natural generation parity first please~ Then we’re done with the previous promises (besides combat)!

Snapshot 25w06a is out NOW!

Notable changes:
- Warm and cold chickens have been added.
- Short Dry Grass and Tall Dry Grass have been added.
- Cactus Flower blocks have been added.
- Loaded chunks regardless if loaded by the player will now receive random ticks, making crop farms and weather events possible when away from the player.
- Fire will no longer spread if the player is not within 8 chunks of the fire.
- Firefly bushes no longer play its ambient sounds unless it is night and not blocked by any blocks with colliding hitboxes except for leaves.

About Warm and Cold Chickens:
- The current chicken is now the temperate chicken.
- Their spawning is the same as the previous warm/cool variants of other farm animals.
- Cold chickens lay blue eggs, while warm lay brown ones.
- Wherever an egg is hatched determines the variant, not the color of the egg.

About Short and Tall Dry Grasses:
- They are both one-block tall in terms of hitbox.
- Visually, short dry grass is around half a block high.
- They generate in hot, dry biomes like deserts and badlands.
- They can be placed anywhere a dead bush can be placed.
- Short dry grass can be bonemealed into tall dry grass.
- Tall grass, when bonemealed, generates short dry grass around it.
- Both are compostable and combustible.
- Sheep eat these grasses to regenerate their wool.

About Cactus Flowers:
- They can spawn on top of cactuses.
- They can be placed on top of cactuses or any center-supporting block.
- Shorter cactus (1-2 blocks high) have a 10% chance to spawn a flower or another cactus above its highest block.
- Tall cactus (3 blocks or higher) have a 25% chance to spawn a cactus flower.
- They have the same spawn conditions as cactus do, which means it must have air on all sides to grow.

Notable technical changes:
- The new gamerule allowFireTicksAwayFromPlayer allows fire and lava in chunk-loaded areas away from the player to be randomly ticked, spreading fire.

Notable bug-fixes:
- You can now add tamed animals to teams.
- Country Lode Take Me Home is no longer a Nether advancement.
- Making a mob its owner no longer crashes the game.
- Dismounting mobs no longer places the rider at the mount position by default.
- Biome tags for spawning variants is now properly defined for all relevant biomes.
- Bone meal will no longer be consumed on new plants if it does not produce new growth.
- The hitboxes for new bushes should be properly aligned now.
- Trees and mushrooms can now replace new bushes when placing or spawning.
- You can update non-full blocks’ fluid state again.

Snapshot 25w05a is out NOW!

Notable changes:
- There are now cold and warm variants of the cow!
- There are now Firefly Bush blocks.
- There are now Bush blocks.
- There are now ambient sounds for desert and badlands.
- Temperate cows now have extended snouts.
- Sand, red sand, and terracotta will now play unique sounds when nearby.
- Dead bushes on top of the blocks mentioned above will also play unique sounds.
- Beacons and their beams now render beyond 16 chunks of render distance.
- Beacon beams now render twice as high and thicker when viewed from further away.

About Cow Variants:
- The normal cow is the now the temperate cow, spawning where warm and cold variants do not spawn.
- The cold variant spawns in taigas and windswept biomes.
- The warm variant spawns in savannas, jungles, and badlands.
- When bred, the child chooses one of the parents' variants, not the biome being bred in.

About Firefly Bush:
- They spawn in swamps and near rivers.
- At low light levels, firefly particles will appear, making the block glow.
- Fireflies are emissive particles while the block is two light levels when fireflies are present.
- Bonemealing gives another firefly bush, like two tall flowers.

About Bush: (Yes, this is the live variant of the dead bush.)
- They can be found in small patches in plains, windswept biomes, rivers, forests, and birch forests.
- It can be composted.
- Bonemealing spawns another bush near it if possible.

Notable technical changes:
- You can now edit what items can bypass blocking per item.
- You can now edit the normal range of an effective block in reference to an incoming attack.
- Brown and red mooshrooms are affected by the cow's overall texture and model change.

Notable bug-fixes:
- All entities within a team can now be targeted regardless of having health.
- Eyes of ender animation now matches its item hitbox.
- You can now transmute an item into itself.
- Fall damage multipliers now applies consistently across all rideable mobs.
- Game tests now reports failures to spawn tests.
- Display entities no longer use interpolation when teleporting.
- Neutral mobs now get angry when attacked even if a command is overwriting its current state at the same time.
- Sprinting is no longer canceled after starting to fly with elytra.
- Summoned piglins now pick up gold again.

Snapshot 25w04a is out NOW!

Notable reversions:
- Crouching while holding non-conflicting two directional keys at the same time will again have greater speed than holding down just one key.
- Taking actions that would slow you down while sprinting will again have greater movement speed than taking slowing actions while normally walking.

Notable changes:
- You can now see all charged projectiles in the crossbow tooltip.
- You can now see the first four items for pick-blocked containers just like shulkers.

Notable technical changes:
- Splash and lingering potions are now different entity types.
- Filled but already discovered maps will no longer show the Unknown tooltip.
- Trim patterns and recipes are no longer combined into one trim registry.
- You can now customize cat and frog variants.
- SNBT now parses different types in the same list.
- You can now edit any mob to be capable of wearing horse armor.
- You can now set spawn conditions of variant spawning in a uniform format.
- You can now edit weapons to be able to disable blocking (i.e. shields cooldown after axe swing) or block attacks (i.e. putting up a shield).
- You can now customize item break sounds.
- You can now specify items to be placeable and used for certain recipes for banner patterns and trim materials.
- You can now customize what will be displayed in the tooltip when hovering over an item.
- Many tooltip-related components are no longer supported and have been moved to the new tooltip display component.

Notable bug-fixes:
- Breaking shields can now be heard by all relevant players.
- Wind charges now behave consistently to other projectiles in bubble columns.
- Projectiles now behave consistently when hitting and landing in a block with flowing liquids.
- Players can land on powder snow with leather boots as if they fell on normal blocks.
- The game test blocks now work when using tab to switch between selected elements and are no longer removable by in-game boss mechanics (i.e. ender dragon hitbox collision and wither hitbox collision and projectiles).
- Worlds no longer stop functioning if the player is within a game test zone while running or starting the test.
- Players’ bodies now move to face the direction of travel while using an item again.

How to Block the Minecraft Fandom website on iOS:

1. Go to Settings.
2. Scroll to Screen Time.
3. Scroll to Content & Privacy Restrictions.
4. Toggle it on.
5. Go to App Store, Media, Web, & Games.
6. Scroll to Web Content.
7. Select Limit Adult Websites. (I know, wish it was just a block list somewhere else…)
8. Input the URL of the website, in this case: minecraft.fandom.com. (It should work without https:// and any final /.)
9. Done! It should be applied regardless of browser.

*Obviously you can also allow and block any website you want now, it’s just a pain to go through so many directories for simple URL blocking.
**This should also be similar on iPadOS and maybe MacOS. Maybe I will post those specifically later.
***I do not have an Android phone and many Android phones may have their own versions of Settings.

It’s here! (Well, it’s not really here yet but we’ll get a Direct on it on April 2nd.) How do y’all feel about it?

My personal opinion:
- It needs an OLED screen option or I’m not picking it up immediately.
- The magnetic attachment pins look kinda thin. Hopefully they’re just bypassing Bluetooth and not the charging pins because if they break…
- Love the larger SR and SL buttons, definitely better than the small inset ones on the original Joy-Con.
- Hope drifting is fixed so I don’t have to send mine out again to get replaced like my launch Switch.
- The bezel doesn’t look that thick so that’s good.
- Mario Kart 9???
- We have to see the price. The best case scenario is that it slots into the $300-350 tier and every current model gets bumped down by $25-50.
- I would like to see the Eshop to be not laggy lol and a better game selection menu system. Let there be two rows of games. Let me favorite/pin games. Make the file system more accessible.
- Themes would be a nice thing if you can buy them with your Nintendo Platinum Points in the current Rewards shops.
- Hope they add the Nintendo Music app as well.
- Maybe there could be a trade-in program?
- Ringfit and other games may need an adapter for the new Joy-Cons or they’ll just say you can still connect the old ones via Bluetooth to use with the Switch 2.

Anyway, I’m hyped! I get a whole semester to save for it and some games, let’s go!

Snapshot 25w03a is out NOW!

Notable changes:
- Leaf litter is now compostable.
- Custom saddles will maintain their components when the mount “goes missing”.
- Pig saddles render larger to account for cold pig’s new coat layer.

Notable technical changes:
- You can now run all applicable game tests when starting a server using arguments.
- The saddle equipment slot is now universal to all rideable mobs.
- You can now apply attribute modifiers to the new saddle equipment slot.
- Only mobs that can be ridden will support riding and rendering of saddles.
- You can still modify a mob to equip a saddle if they have no ride function, but it will not function as a saddle.
- Equipment slots have been consolidated.
- Fall distance is now expressed as a double instead of a float.
- You can now equip any item as a saddle if specified.
- You can now equip any item to a mob’s body slot if specified.
- Components on spawning items will apply to spawned entity. (currently does not work the opposite way)
- The entity data component is replaced by the variant entity components.
- All saddle textures have been moved to equipment.
- You can now select components to return the value of the component if applicable.

About Game Tests:
- Tests are expected to run in independent superflat worlds.
- They will output the relevant information of each specified test and indicate if it passed or failed.
- The /test command is used to create and run these tests.

Notable bug-fixes:
- Saddles no longer render invisible when an invisibility potion effect is used, making it consistent with all other equipment.
- Older worlds with equipped mobs no longer double equipped on upgrade.
- Saddles no longer stay on mobs during their death animation after dropping the saddle.
- Players can strafe then sprint again.
- Shulker box breaking no longer drops all items and the box with the items still intact as well.
- Lava no longer collides with entities like if standing just above it.
- You can no longer die due to falling at specific heights when your fall damage should be mitigated.
- Projectiles no longer jitter when there is little vertical momentum.
- Moving nearly straight on the edge of a block now prevents the player from shifting off the block.
