Happy holidays, everyone! Thank you all so much for the raucous response to this one so far! It's been quite a while since I got done with an edit, watched it back for the first time, and had that feeling like, "Yep, I knocked that one out of the park!" My thought process when I started working on this was to try approaching a Sonic episode from the perspective I typically reserve for Metroid: Taking you through the game and my experiences with it. Would you be interested in more deep dives on old-school Sonic games like this? Because like I said in the episode, I could DEFINITELY do this for any of 'em!

In just two more days, the legacy is lost no more. What are you guys most excited for in the remake?
IT'S SO HARD TO CHOOSE, I can't wait for all the redone music and to go on the Midas River course and to see Geno and Mallow again and to play BEETLE MANIA. I've been able to ignore it pretty well until now, but it's definitely hitting me that this is REALLY HAPPENING.

Kept you waiting, huh? Part 1 of my *feature-length* critique of Metroid Dread is now available for $5 and up backers on Patreon: www.patreon.com/GeekCritique
This 45-minute first episode goes in-depth on, appropriately enough, the approximate first half of the game! It's been a long time coming, but I've put my whole heart into this project - in fact, I've been working on it since the beginning of June!
As for when the episode will be out here on YouTube... it'll be out when the rest of the season is done. ;) Oh yeah, I've got BIG plans! Thank you all for your support, and keep geekin'!

You all know how much I love changing my thumbnails a billion times, so which of these titles sounds better to you? They're both new episodes of The Geek Critique, and they're out right now for $5 Patreon backers at www.patreon.com/GeekCritique!
The final episode of the season will be Sonic & the Black Knight. I've finished the game, written the script, and I'm now editing the video! When that's done, they'll start releasing here on YouTube. It's gonna be one WHOPPER of an episode, meaning editing's gonna be a bit of a process, but I'm aiming to have it done by the second weekend of December. Can't wait for you all to see what I've been putting together!

The Geek Critique (TGC) features video gaming nerd analysis, computerized guru reviews, poindexter software entertainment media exposition, and bad jokes.
Want to use footage from a TGC episode? Here are the rules for doing so:
I'm perfectly okay with anyone using my raw gameplay footage, as long as you're using it generally to show off a game and not trying to pass off something I did as your own. You don't even need to ask or credit me for this.
If you want to show a clip of one of my episodes, or even reference something I said in one of your scripts, that's fine too, just let me know ahead of time! I'll ask that you credit me properly in the video, let me know when it goes up, and provide a link to my content in your description. However, clips shouldn't exceed about 30 seconds, and you shouldn't just be using my footage to make your point for you. In that case, it'd be better to just attribute a quote to me in your own words.
