Apologies for the outage this morning, the good news is we were able to test and deploy a new auto-restart script that should be totally automated now. We were also able to resolve some other minor lingering issues so we should have much better uptime going forward.

We will be rebooting the surf camera as part of scheduled maintenance tonight 16/6/2023 around 10pm, downtime is expected to be less than 10 minutes.

We've implemented automated livestream checks so the stream will automatically resume after a few minutes in the event of any future issues. With our reliability issues under control should we add the NOAA wave data back to the stream?

Looks like the primary stream will be down for the next few days due to a damaged network cable. We'll let you know as soon as we have a timeline for the cable to be repaired. We'll be using this time to improve the VM hosting the stream so we should have 4k video at 25fps when its back online.

Hi everyone, thank you for your patience while we work through getting the new surf cam dialed in. We are working through some network issues that have impacted reliability causing the stream to go down semi-regularly. Until these networking issues are resolved if the main stream fails a backup stream of just a black screen will take over until the primary stream is back online. This prevents the YouTube live stream from ending and auto playing the next video.
