Yavatmal is famous for its unique Navratri festival celebration. Yes, unique because during the nine days of the festival, Yavatmal City is decorated like a bride and people from all walks of life come together and celebrate regardless of caste and creed.
What makes it special is that every Navratri Mandal has its own style of decoration. All brothers and sisters celebrate this festival and keep a fast for a period of nine days, also called as Nirankar Upwas.
Due to the large scale of festivities, Yavatmal Navratri ranks first in Maharashtra State and ranks second after Kolkata in India.
