There is definitely a level of sad comedy to seeing people like Finn McKenty show that their whole schtick was just marketing schemes to line their pockets and the moving of a celebritarian needle forward. Almost sounds very similar to someone else we are familiar with on this channel who uses a certain genre as a "platform" to climb the ranks and step on people on his way up (your former "friends" are definitely waiting at the bottom of that ladder with shovels in hand). It sounds like there was a lack of love for the art and the music you were talking about and it was all just for the analytics, not for the way things made you feel, how you felt connections, how it helped you through. There is also the possibility that this is maybe some form of burnout from the social media age (which can be overkill, i'm not going to deny that) and that maybe there was care there once upon a time... but maybe we'll never truly know. For those that do love what you do, keep doing it and keep letting that love blossom and I hope you get all the support you deserve! All the phonies can take a hike, though. Go change your name, move to Hollywood and get all the enhancements to fit your fake personality and empty heart. If loving music is a suckers game, then i'm a sucker and i'll take that all the way to my last breath.
