Its been 5 years since Hurricane Harvey ravaged SE Texas..... Felt very blessed when this thing decided to turn north at last minute.. Up until that point they forecast 130+ mph winds and 30-40 inches of rain on top of a storm surge in Corpus Christi.. Instead we got 5 inches of rain and I think 80-100MPH winds in Corpus.. If we had got what they initially forecast our whole house would've been underwater and if we stayed we'd be dead! I never respected some of the neighbors who decided to take their chances and stay after that.. Absolute bonkers.. That "It won't happen to me attitude' is just foolish.. You got kids dude! It's like these people don't believe in statistics.. People really do die in situations like this.. Just crazy how some people be.. But anyways imagine screaming for help on top of your rooftops with boats and trees slamming into you.. Nobody is coming to rescue you.. Prayers were answered that day!! Too bad for Houston but homes can be replaced lives can't and thank God it could've been a heck of a lot worse!! Only one person died in Port Aransas and I think he was the only one who stayed.. Imagine all those hundreds or thousands that would've died on south side of Corpus Christi if this thing stayed on its original path??!! Then some people be angry at God.. "Where was God?" Yeah, he gave you plenty of warning and he also gave you a brain to think.. He is not your genie!! But anyways for some reason God took mercy on Corpus Christi that day and we are very grateful even though some don't understand how God intervened that day.. Instead they just take it for granted and continue to do life the way they always did.. If the next storm comes they will most likely stay again because ya know "well Harvey didn't take us out, so next one won't" My response would be "Well make sure you're saved and right with God if you really must stay!"
