Anima Sound System can be described as one of the most influential collective of the Hungarian contemporary alternative and underground music. Their musical style mixes elements of dub, acid jazz, techno, drum and bass, as well as multiple styles of Eastern-European folk music, including Hungarian, Jewish, Transylvanian and so on.
The founder of the collective is Zsolt Prieger who formed Anima Sound System in the summer of 1993 at Hungary.
After touring almost all Eastern European cities and capitals during their early years, Anima Sound System has really drawn interest among Western European promoters thanks to their
great successes: they toured all major capitals from Berlin to London, played at international festivals and collaborated with well known artists, such as Dee-Phazz, Terry Lee Brown Jr., Transglobal Underground.
