Talking about Arisu's VSI and CPI feat.
I've had to deal with a lot of people lately who completely oversimplify the evidence for this feat and avoid defending their position when challenged. So, I'm making this community post to debunk the so-called "debunks," which are really just bad arguments made with little to no reading comprehension of the points I've made. If you want to disagree, my Discord is XDwasGone, and we can debate whether the feat is valid or not.
In Alice in Borderland Chapter 62, Arisu has a conversation with an alternate version of himself, which gradually shifts into a philosophical discussion. In reality, this is a subconscious attempt by Arisu to overcome the effects of a drug in order to save Usagi, who is bleeding out nearby.
During this conversation, Arisu begins to see flashes of the past that correlate with phrases spoken by his alternate self. Now, why is this significant? First, Arisu visualizes all these scenes from a third-person perspective, including the background, surrounding details, distant buildings, and other elements. This alone is an extremely strong CPI and VSI feat because it proves that Arisu is not just recalling personal memories from a first-person perspective but actively reconstructing the environment around him.
However, the most impressive CPI + VSI feat stems from the fact that many of these recollected scenes are events Arisu never directly experienced. This includes moments such as:
- The Beauty Game
- The death of the Katana Guy from the Beach
- Various other key events in the Borderlands
These recollections imply that Arisu proactively visualized every past event in the Borderlands and selectively chose the ones most relevant to the message he was trying to convey to himself. This might seem like a stretch at first, but looking at the evidence, it becomes clear that this is exactly what happened.
First, Arisu is not consciously selecting specific memories; if he were, he would likely recall moments involving Chota, Tatta, and Karube, characters he was emotionally attached to. Instead, his memories include people he was never close with, such as the King of Diamonds and Katana Guy.
Second, the notion that Arisu randomly visualized these events makes no sense; instead, what aligns logically is that he visualized all past events in the Borderlands and then subconsciously selected the ones that would motivate him most.
Now, some argue that this is just a "narrative convenience" and that Arisu never visualized the specific scenes shown in Chapter 62. However, this argument is completely dismissed when you look at Alice in Borderland Retry.
In Alice in Borderland Retry, Arisu re-enters the Borderlands years later. At one point, he experiences a memory recall moment similar to Light Yagami's from Death Note. Note that the CPI of the memory recall is equally invalid as Light's.
During this recall, Arisu recalls one key scene: The King of Spades standing on a random rooftop, shooting people at the start of Phase 2. This scene is important because Arisu was never present for it, yet he recalls it as part of his memory. This directly supports the idea that during Croquet, Arisu visualized every single event in the Borderlands. It also proves that these visualizations were not just narrative flashbacks, as the scene was already stored in his recollection.
This outright disproves claims that Arisu only visualized what was shown in Chapter 62. It confirms that his subconscious processed and stored information from events he never personally experienced, which later surfaced in his recall during Retry.
This is insane CPI and VSI because the Borderlands encompass all of Tokyo and some areas beyond, meaning Arisu would have had to visualize:
- Every event that took place
- Every person’s movements
- Every change in the landscape
Additionally, given that Arisu has never displayed any other significant visualization moments except while drugged, this means that his entire visualization process must have occurred within just a few seconds under the drug's effects.
This means he processed 75 days' worth of information, reconstructed every key event across Tokyo, and subconsciously pieced together everything while choosing the most relevant moments to display.
