That's Advent 2024 complete on YouTube, here's a quick retouch of the photo we shot in that video 🥳
The wider community got 4 of the 25 days of Advent on YouTube, whilst the rest of the resources were filed neatly into the Members Vault [not on YouTube]. Full edit tutorials, shooting tips, editing tips, mindset prep, business tips, mammoth business beasts and more have all entered the Vault throughout Advent, and we're all set to slide into 2025 with just 2 video + 1 live resourses remaining.
Goal setting for members begins now (check the space!) with the live clinic on Jan 5th. See you there 🤓

In October I flew out to Italy to spend time with The Pet Photographers Club at their Retreat. Part of my role there as one of the instructors was to teach classes and run demonstrations. My class list was insanely varied - in a hired Italian studio one minute then working with "untrained" dogs in the hotel gardens the next!
These two beauties were from day 1. We'd only just met the students on the retreat and then we raced to beat the light via car for our first shooting session. Drogon and Khaleesi, a mother and son pair, met us at the lake, near Lecco in Italy for an off-camera flash "big sky" session. I will admit that the sky at the time wasn't "big". It was as flat as a pancake, grey and a bit miserable. However, we didn't let it stop us and after I'd demonstrated the theory we'd just covered and took this photo, the class each had a turn before splitting up and choosing their own area of the shore to shoot their own images. Of course, their photos are better than mine, and I'm still excited to see their final images!
The wolf dogs were perfect - I couldn't have asked for better - and with no Photoshop needed, Lightroom Classic finished it off. Big thank you to Alessia, one of our MTog's, who helped with the models to translate conversations, make sure we got where we needed to be and kept me smiling!
Hope you enjoy this one!
If you're interested in joining a Retreat in the future, there is one in Tuscany planned for April - go check out the waitlist sign-up form here: airtable.com/shryH6cSWCxllQoxs

With yesterday's news and our country entering 10 days of mourning for our late Queen it seems wholly inappropriate to release a YouTube video today which was filmed long beforehand and, as such, isn’t sensitive or sombre in the slightest. We’ve made the decision to postpone the release of today's video until 12 noon tomorrow as a mark of respect, along with many creators and businesses across the UK and the Commonwealth. Hopefully, you can join us tomorrow instead, and however you feel about the monarchy, this moment is history literally being written right now.
She still completed her job as a 96-year-old extremely frail and [probably] extremely sick great-grandmother by appointing our newest Prime Minister on Tuesday, before passing on Thursday. If that’s not a terrifying level of commitment to your job then I don’t know what is.
[I don't have any images of Corgis to hand, nor anything remotely Queen-related, so I've settled here for a VERY loose connection of our working cocker, Bryt, photographed in Scotland for our newest online course, as the Queen was the proud owner of Lissy, a working cocker spaniel, at the time of her death.]

It's challenge review day (12 noon UK time) but Bryt wanted to show you her chef skills...
Wondering which would be most helpful, a how-to on the trick ("Hold"), a how-to on the lighting, or a how-to on the editing? 🤓
