Accurately capturing email addresses with voice AI agents has always been challenging.
In April 2024, our email transcription accuracy was just 50%โfar from ideal.
By October 2024, advancements in transcription technology helped us boost accuracy to 80%.
Now with multimodal agents, we make best use of voice and text (and video) and we let the user type in their email address which leads to 100% accurate email addresses.
This approach isnโt widely available in the market yet, but itโs already delivering exceptional value to our customers.

Today, I had a moment of reflection about a common practice in voice technology: the almost universal use of female voices for AI voice assistants.
I must admit, Iโve followed this trend myselfโevery project Iโve worked on features a female voice, and I canโt think of anyone using a male voice for their assistants either.
Why do we default to female voices? Research tells us itโs because theyโre often perceived as warm, helpful, and trustworthyโqualities we naturally associate with good assistance.
But hereโs the dilemma: studies also suggest that the dominance of female voices in AI assistants perpetuates gender stereotypes, reinforcing the idea that women are subservient, always ready to assist, and best suited for roles focused on service.
This subtly but powerfully shapes societal perceptions of womenโs roles, both personally and professionally.
So, Iโm left wondering: Is this something we, as creators in this space, should actively challenge? Or are there other priorities that outweigh this conversation in your perspective?
Iโd love to hear your thoughtsโespecially from those working in voice technology, AI, and ethics. Is it time to diversify the voices we use? Or is this a lesser concern in the grander scheme of things?
