At a very young age, Mrinaal started training in Hindustani Classical music with his mother - a world renowned Ghazal singer. During teenage years, he became fascinated with knowing more about other styles of music and he started to explore more and more western sounds like rock n roll, blues, and folk. He also sang as a tenor in his College Western Classical Concert Choir in Canada. However, work and business took him away from music for a few years in the middle only for him to return to his roots of Ghazal and Hindustani Classical. He started writing and composing music a little later and drew inspiration from his personal life and experiences. His music which is heavily influenced by rock and blues, still holds the traditional nuances of Ghazal gayaki and this fusion has brought out a unique contemporary sound with original songs straight from the heart.
