This channel will present evidence that the name William Shakespeare was a pseudonym for Edward de Vere the 17th Earl of Oxford. It will show that contemporaries of the earl and people well after his death recognized that he was a gifted playwright and poet who wrote using the pseudonym and some others. It will also look at how the Earl's life is mirrored in the poems and plays.
It will examine Elizabethan and Jacobean publishing, printing, writing and theater.
The channel will also address the Shakespeare Authorship Question which has gained much traction over the past twenty-five years and why William of Shakspere from Stratford Upon Avon did not have the education, opportunities or the time to write. It will also present evidence that the man was illiterate or at best semi-literate.
The evidence will be presented in short videos that look at texts and evidence primarily from the period 1550 to 1642 when the theater was banned by the English government.
