Here in Hokkaido, the season for cherry blossom (sakura) viewing is usually from late April to mid-May.
Ezo-yamazakura is the most common cherry tree in Hokkaido. It's a wild species, so it's natural. Its blossoms are deeper pink than those in Honshu. Also, its blossoms bloom simultaneously with its leaves.

In early January it was freezing cold that morning.
The temperature was minus 17 degrees Celsius(1.4 degrees Fahrenheit)😅
However, this Hokkaido red squirrel(Ezo-risu) didn't seem to mind the freezing cold, and it was concentrating on cracking a walnut. 👏👏👏

In late October, swan birds came here in Hokkaido as usual.😃😃😃
(Hokkaido is one of the stopover sites for migratory swans.)
They refueled at the rice fields, and then they all left here for wintering grounds.
