Hey all. I know we are all still very much processing yesterday and last night as what is undoubtedly a prolific tornado outbreak. I don't have much to offer right now, other than to say I'm thinking of all of you as we will begin to see the aftermath unfold and to please take care of yourselves. I don't know what I will do in the next week in terms of a fundraiser, but know that I will be planning something to give back to these communities.

I'll be on Weather Brains Podcast TONIGHT 3/31 at 7PM CDT / 8PM EDT! (pinch me) I am so incredibly excited, and it would mean the world to me if you all shared this opportunity to talk about our favorite topics (you all can guess what those are lol) tonight! I'll see you there!

Lots of things today 😂 I was on the ‪@sirensproject‬ podcast! The episode is live on their channel now! We talked a lot about disaster relief and there’s nobody doing more incredible work than them here in Georgia! I encourage you all to check them out or give them a listen 🙂‍↔️❤️

!! IMPORTANT !! It's been brought to my attention that there is an impersonator out there with my channel username and picture, and sending people various links/ WhatsApp information. DO NOT click on/ participate in any thing (DMs/ posts) that are sent to you. My only channels are this one, and I would never send anyone messages or links. Please please be careful, and don't get yourselves scammed! I've reported the channel, and I would appreciate if you all did the same if you see it:)

I have two things to share today: First and most importantly is that I am still absorbing this past weekend's outbreak and implications. I'm always left feeling at a loss for words when we have news of loss of life. It's devastating, and we're only just now seeing the full initial physical impacts from this weekend's weather. Unfortunately, those impacted will be living in this reality for months and years. I will likely have a video discussing it and storm anxiety in the coming weeks.
SECONDLY, I am going to be on the Weather Brains podcast next week. I am unbelievably excited for this opportunity to use my platform to discuss the things I feel most passionate about in this community, mental health and lasting implications of severe weather -- and Weather Brains is the perfect opportunity to do so. I will have more details later this week for all of you, and I hope you will be there to join me in this opportunity. Please let me know if there's anything specific you'd like to see mentioned and I'll do my best to accommodate them. :)

Blaze, Beep, and I are here to remind everyone to please make sure you have your severe weather safety plan THOUGHT OUT AND READY TO GO!! If you have a small bag of essentials for yourself and kids, pets-- even better! Don't wait until the last minute scrambling to figure out where you or your loved ones would go during a tornado or destructive thunderstorm. Be prepared, be safe, and this too shall pass <3

So much literature has been published on the 'Cry Wolf Effect' in areas across the Plains over the years that many have accepted it to be true for all parts of the U.S. -- not necessarily. Lim et al challenge this idea for residents of the Southeast, who (in this 2019 study) not only perceive tornado warnings to be more accurate than they actually are, but they also have a higher propensity to shelter even if they are aware of the high false alarm ratio.

What could this be a result of? I'm so intrigued, and I cannot wait to discuss this with all of you in my next video, and hear your thoughts.

(*none of this is to say the Cry Wolf Effect doesn't exist, but we can examine the extent to which it impacts residents of the southeast and their behavioral reactions-- which may be different from what our preconceived notions hold)

Happy New Year Everyone!! I want to take this time to say thank you all for being with me through the journey of 2024, and all the chaos and happiness it brought. While I've very much enjoyed my break from social media, I'm looking forward to starting back content creation in 2025 in addition to working full-time and keeping up with Two Storms. I've never felt so thankful and lucky to have what I very much consider to be three different dream jobs. I always said I wouldn't post content unless it was something I felt proud of, and I always meant that. Even if I had to take a few months to create something, feeling excited about what I'm putting out there is of upmost importance. With that being said, I cannot wait to dive back into tornado and severe weather content in 2025! I've been taking time to catch up on all my other favorite tornado content from other channels just like all of you:)

I hope each and every one of you had a wonderful holiday season, and if you didn't -- know you are not alone and that there is always, always hope in the new day.

I will see all of you tomorrow for a project announcement, and shortly after that for more tornado content <3 (P.S. Blaze is still doing well for anyone curious! He is playful as ever)

Hey Y'all! I want to first of all just to say that I'm sorry for the lack of content in the last several months. Quality over quantity has always been of upmost importance to me, and right now I just don't have the time to put in to make a video that I thoroughly enjoy. That being said, I'm looking into getting an editor moving into the new year so I can still make the tornado history videos that I adore so much, while also being able to still work full time and run a small business. It's an adjustment period for me, and I know you all are always incredibly understanding of that. I just want to update you all:) There WILL be more content in 2025!

ALSO MR. BLAZE UPDATE: We are on our 13th day of treatment for Dry /Neuro FIP and in the past 4 days he has started to walk straight, be more social, and eat more!! It was a little scary for a bit, and I was so worried -- but this old guy still has a lot of life in him!! I am so thankful for all the kindness and shared stories of your kitties' survivals. Here's to another 13 years with my favorite boy:)
