The Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Ashadh month is called Devshayani Ekadashi . At some places this date is also called 'Padmanabha'. This Ekadashi comes when the Sun enters Gemini. Chaturmas is considered to start from this day. From this day Lord Shri Hari Vishnu sleeps in Kshirsagar and then after about four months he is raised when the Sun moves into Libra. That day is called Devotthani Ekadashi . The interval in between is called Chaturmas.
