The Hong Kong Youth Philharmonia is a fully student-led youth orchestra founded by six passionate young musicians, Him Chan, Daria Chung, Enoch Li, Ivy Kan, Stone Tung, and Rachel Wong. Established in 2020 at the peak of COVID-19 as a defiant response against the pandemic-induced silencing of the arts, the HKYP hopes to provide local young musicians the opportunity to bond and express their love and passion for music. The orchestra also provides a platform for student musicians to grasp a taste of orchestral operations and concert planning, thereby growing as future leaders. The orchestra's past annual concerts were held to great acclaim, garnering media attention from outlets such as RTHK's "The Works" and Aura Music. This year, over eighty musicians from secondary schools, universities, and conservatories across Hong Kong, the US, and Europe join us in this celebration of this city’s young musical talents.
