BFDIA 17 review! Spoilers below!
This one will be a LOT shorter than TPOT's for... obvious reasons. This episode is definitely the crazy show we know, but with some added insanity and lore. Let's start with the elimination.
PENCIL WATCH OUT- dang. Pencil was the one I hoped would win BFDIA, so, while I knew she had no chance, seeing her go was still sad. Glad she still got to do stuff though!
As for the challenge, the idea simply being 'just look normal' sounds easy but resulted in literal chaos.
Probably the weakest plot was Fries and Needle, they had some funny moments but nothing too noteworthy. Fries not caring about Needle's issues at all was funny, and Needle constantly being chased by Evil Leafy was a fun gag.
Pin and Coiny were cool, Coiny's consistent remarks about how they were all doing so badly in such a simple challenge was fun, and their encounter with Evil Leafy in the mine was gold. The way they won just fits BFDIA's chaotic nature, as it shouldn't have worked (you can see Pin thinking that it was stupid herself) but it did, I'm ok with these winning but it really should have been...
Book. Book's sub plot of trying to get a makeover but being made 100x more complex was fun, her theft of Fries was cool too. The interactions with Freesmart were cool too! (On that note I died when Ruby broke the elevator why is she like this)
But easily the main plot, TB and Nickel. Their shenanigans through time were fun, and def added a lot of interesting lore as revealed at the end. Nickel was more annoying this time, mainly because of how he kept making things harder for the both of them, but their dynamic is fun. The way Nickel is responsible for almost ending the world is something else though lmao. Their roles in the chaotic ending of the challenge were fun too, with Nickel always being kicked off the scanner then causing TB to crash into Fries and explode.
The end credit scenes were cool, Leafy's appearance was interesting enough but the GB and TB scene was amazing and set up TPOT 15 amazingly.
While not my favourite BFDIA episode, it stills holds up very well! For now, I'll give it an 8.5/10.
TPOT 15's review (or at least part of it) tomorrow, alongside the TPOT 'who did you vote' poll and the TPOT worst to best!
