"xeḧay" translates to "the sun" in Tigrinya, an old language spoken in Eritrea. It is also coincidentally the last name of Sarah Tsehaye, the lead singer of the band "xeḧay" from Cologne, Germany.
xeḧay makes soul music with flavor and is deeply committed to a bigger dimension and meaning within both – their sound and their message. It consists of six-members, who all came together in mid-2018: Roman Luchkovsky (keyboards), Ivan Abbonizio (bass), Julian Hüther (drums), Jan Lauber (trumpet), Daniele Jigen Elia (guitar) and Sarah Tsehaye (vocals).
Their #soulflavour sound is inspired by different sounds of soul, funk, hip-hop, jazz and world music in general.
"xeḧay" is set to release their debut EP, called 'Life has just begun' by mid of December 2021, a homage to newly gained knowledge and the beginning of a new life filled with more ease and love.
