The Mad Composer Lab
was conceived in the spirit of innovation which inspired great
American Creatives such as Julius Eastman, Lou Harrison, Pauline Oliveros, Thelonius Monk and more.
Sound experiments, exploring new composition techniques, and innovating ways of enhancing the listeners’ musical experience is all part of the madness, the passion. The music from the lab spans an array of genres and transcendental energies and is shared in every consumable format for the people. The purpose is to continue nurturing culture, inspire all to be free in thought, healed, blessed, and united in resolve.
Kennedy (b. Brandon Kennedy Verrett, 1980), is the founding composer and curator of the Mad Composer Lab. Subjects and philosophies often expressed in their work include
Nature, Science, Sex, Social/Economic Injustice, and Folklore.
Presently, Kennedy is Composer-in-Residence at the Lou Harrison House for Music, Arts, and Ecology in Joshua Tree, CA and currently lives in Portland, OR.
