Some of you may have noticed a serious lack of updates and new content on our channel. Of course there was the birth of our second child back in august. But then last week decided to happenā¦ and boy did it happen hard and fastā¦
An MRI scan of our three-year old firstborn revealed a massive tumor in his spinal cord. There is no way for me to put into words or even approximate how this made me or my partner feel. Elvi was admitted to a special oncology clinic for children the next day and is being taken care of by a bunch of wonderful and wholesome people since. Last Tuesday, he finally underwent a risky 10+ hour marathon surgery performed by an elite neurosurgeon sniper and a whole team of specialists. Let me assure you it was without a doubt the longest day of our lives. The good news: the mission was a huge success and the majority of the abnormal tissue mass was removed without any apparent neurological damage or deficits. We are obviously over the moon and can finally breathe again. We are not quite there yet and have something of a road ahead of us (Elvi especially): more tests are required, physical therapy will be neededā¦ but our son remains amazing and keeps showing everyone who is boss (spoiler alert: not us!)
