in the future - u will be able to do some more stuff here,,,!! like pat catgirl- i mean um yeah... for now u can only see others's posts :c
I want to thank everyone for 500 subs. Now I can make community posts! It's nice to know that even though my channel is barely active, it's still possible to gain a decent following.
I'm a bit split on whether I should continue only posting whatever I want or whether I should put more effort into marketing myself by posting more stuff. I'm currently working on a huge musical project, but besides it being in the Sega Genesis niche, it's not tied to any individual property. This limits the how wide of an audience it will reach outside of my subscribers and the members of the communities I'm in, which is why it'd be beneficial to grow my audience. Hopefully, it should go without saying that the goal isn't for me to become YouTube famous or anything, but to have a large enough audience that I could receive donations so that I can afford to spend more time on music and other projects. The thing I'm working right now will hopefully be one of those things that people will be willing to donate to me for.
Anyways, here's some future YouTube plans that I'd like to put in motion:
- I still have a bunch of unreleased Sega Genesis ports that I'd like to post. Each one takes a couple hours to put together, and though I often enjoy doing tedious work, it feels like a hassle. I think writing this write now, I've talked myself into doing more of them.
- I've been wanting to add proper unique pixel art thumbnails to each song upload so that they look more professional and so I can practice art.
- I should split each track from Perish Point into their own videos so that they're more accessible. I'm always hesitant to repackage stuff I've already made, but this could give me the opportunity to make improvements and do unique thumbnails, which could make them feel more like special things.
- Ever since the release of Radiohead's Kid A Mnesia and its corresponding game (which is filled with alternate versions of songs on the album), I've really wanted to put together something akin to Perish Point, but for Kid A and Amnesiac. I've made a bunch of plans for it, including a tracklist that goes something like this:
1. Everything In Its Right Place (Add elements from Kid A Mnesia alternate version)
2. Optimistic / In Limbo (Mess around with the structures and mash up the two songs)
3. Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors / True Love Waits (Incorporate elements from every version of TLW with elements from Pulk/Pull)
4. Like Spinning Plates / I Will (Mash them up similarly to Joe Edelmann's cover)
5. Morning Bell (Mash up all three versions)
6. Where I End and You Begin (Combine the demo and the HTTT version)
7. Idioteque (Incorporate the sample more prominently, similar to the Lapetus Mix)
8. Kid A (Use elements from the early live version)
9. Fog (Mash up all three versions)
10. If You Say The Word (Probably mess around with the structure. There are no alternate versions to work with, but this is one of my favorite Radiohead songs)
11. Fast Track (Combine normal and alt versions)
12. Motion Picture Soundtrack (Incorporate elements from the MINIDISCS version)
13. How To Disappear Completely (Changing mixing, most importantly dynamic between strings, string synth, and everything else)
14. Pyramid Song (Incorporate ending ambience into main song)
Finally, I'm curious if people would like to hear more of my thoughts on stuff. I've been thinking about doing more Sonic hack and fan game streams to improve my speaking ability and learn to remove my "um"s and "like"s from my speech. I could also use these community posts as a blog to talk about stuff I've been working on and possibly more.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on what direction you'd like me to go with my channel.
