The Princess head is back from the garage and waiting to be rebuilt. No horrors discovered, hoorah! Bearing surfaces cleaned, an incredibly minimal skim "just to clean it up", and the proper waxstat housing installed, as well as a general clean, came to £120. I may have to buy some valve shims, I'll only know when everything is back together and I find out what my valve clearances are. Once again a thank you to everyone who made a donation, it really got me out of a hole with this one.

Anyone else feeling like they could do with an extra week tacked on to the end of January? I sure am! So much work to get through this month and only little old me to do it. We'll get there. I can let you know that in the video queue at the moment is some more artwork videos, Rosie updates, and a return to the Lanchester!

What's January got in store for you? Projects going your way, or fighting you every step?

If you're a recent Subscriber and reading this, welcome! I've been delighted to see so many people getting on board with the channel recently. Over the next couple of months we've got updates on all three members of the fleet - Lanchester, Princess, and Renault - as well as fresh artwork (Patrons have already seen what's coming there), and later in the year I'm hoping to get more miniatures and sewing content out there.

Always lots to do here, on all kinds of different topics.

Good news! I spoke to the local garage and thanks to the wonderful donations, the cost of getting the head sorted and buying all the other gubbinz needed for the job is covered :D I just need to find the time to dismantle the engine and get it sent over to them. It's going to take me longer to get the parts to finish the job than it is for the garage to test and skim (if needed) the head, if their lead times are to be believed. The Renault is going in for its MoT once the last exhaust parts arrive, which it will probably fail on the windscreen but also it might not so we'll find out.

2025 is here, finally! 2024 just didn't seem to want to get the hint. Starting the year with three vehicles I can't use - Princess with a bust head gasket, Renault with no MoT, and the Lanchester 200 miles away - is not how I intended to kick things off. Happily, since we've set that bar nice and low getting over it should be easier and the only way is up right? RIGHT?

You've Subscribed, right? Done the bell and all that? Good. Another thing is stick my website in your RSS dooblie, and your bookmarks, I do updates there too www.angyl.co.uk/

A big THANK YOU to the lovely people who dropped some donations my way to help with the Princess' head gasket woes. What a wonderful gift! A thank you also to those folks who have signed up to the Patreon, it all helps and is hugely appreciated while I do my best to keep everything going here. There's a new vid coming on Tuesday, as usual, and it's craft week for those that enjoy that side of the channel.

Christmas Day I drove over to some local friends and the Princess was pretty grumbly. I put it down to the damp and the fog, neither of us liked driving through that, and we made it in time without breaking down. Next morning I gave things an inspection and there was nothing to see so I headed home and she was running better, with the occasional grumble, checked when I got home and there were bubbles in the coolant. Unfortunately, head gasket failure has been confirmed with a compression test. Excellent timing. Also Lincolnshire roads are disgusting, look at the state of this after that one drive, it was clean when I set off!

I'm putting the begging bowl out, I'm stretched so thin financially right now I really didn't need this on top of the rest of the stuff I'm trying to sort out: www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=T7S3HES7FQ…

Did you know I have a Patreon account? www.patreon.com/c/NoExpenseSpent Early access to vids and artwork, and extra updates on stuff, and a great way to contact me more directly than Youtube allows.

I'm getting closer to unlocking the first Youtube milestone, just need to get those view times up! Be sure to stick me on in the background while you're doing chores, share the channel over the festive period with anyone who might be a little bit interested, or just binge watch a playlist. It all helps.

As always a big thank you to everyone that has subscribed, liked, commented, and otherwise boosted the channel. It really does help get me closer to the goal of making this a more serious part of my little business and I'd love to see it grow so I can do bigger and better things in the future.

Cat is out of the bag on the latest addition to the NESS fleet (such as it is) so here is Rosie, my 1988 Renault Five Extra wheelchair van that is currently a little bit broken and awaiting TLC. There will be videos and such on it just as soon as I get chance to get stuck in.

I'm also really close to 500 subscribers! That's the first magic milestone, and when I get enough view time I'll be able to open up Memberships and stuff which will all help fund more stuff.
