I want to continue to occasionally share good creators with smaller channels to help bring some much deserved attention to the work theyāre doing to inform and entertain the Marvel Champions fan base!
Today Iām sharing āŖ@AncientSlumberā¬. This channel features a lot of great playthroughs as well as the excellent tutorial series that Iām featuring here, From Beginner To Heroic. This is a fantastic strategy guide for Champions that will definitely help us all be better players. Check it out if you get a chance, like and sub if you really like it, and letās help raise up all the great creators out there putting in a lot of work to strengthen the community!

I mentioned in the video the other day that there are so many good newer content creators for Champions and this is one of the best in my opinion. Very nice playthroughs, and his Marvel Rewind series is exactly what I was hoping to do with one of my multiverse seriesās and has really been quite excellent. He deserves a lot more eyes on his channel and a lot more subscribers. Check out this epic Thor battle!

If youāre going to be in the CT area on April 5&6 (or youāre just looking for a Spring trip) check out this gaming weekend playing the Age of Apocalypse expansion being put on by The Portal game store! The Brandt of Step Into The Portal fame, as well as Steve Kimmel and many other Champions players will be having a great time with 2 straight days of Apocalypse!

Another article already?? This one outlines the missions mechanism for the campaign and it sounds crazy awesome! Also I desperately wish these campaign allies were in the general card pool! What do you all think of how Age of Apocalypse is shaping up? www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2024/1/22/huntiā¦

Solo Marvel Champion has just released a very cool home brew campaign system and I just had to share it! 3 games with 3 different heroes, villains, and aspects with a simple but interesting campaign setup in-between each game. Definitely check it out!
Also, I just wanted to check in for myself and let you know Iām still working behind the scenes to get back into production. No idea yet when that will be but Iām dying to get back to it!
I will tell you that my number one request is to update the Perfect Matchups and Iāve been working on that, so even if Iām not ready to go back to full time production for awhile, you will be seeing those in the relatively near future!

*X-23 and Deadpool FIRST IMPRESSIONS*
I just had to use up some of the free time Iāve been sneaking in working on part 2 of the AoA overview to play a few games of X-23 and Deadpool this weekend. I fully expected to love X-23 and I was not disappointed. Incredibly fun.
Iāve always greatly enjoyed ready heroes and ready strategies, and the way Laura does it is a lot more interesting than, say, Quicksilver. Taking 2 damage with the Claws, for example, is not insignificant. The timing of how best to use her natural ready is a fun decision, and whether or not to use it for a thwart instead of an attack even though youāre attack is so high is also a fun one.
And of course hunting down Honey Badger and getting her on the table as quickly as possible is almost its own little mini game lol. Or at least it has been for me since sheās been near the bottom of my deck in literally every game Iāve played so far. But even without HB X is still very capable. And getting that āfreeā defense of 2 every villain phase goes a long way towards keeping her alive and always feels good.
But what I was not expecting was HOW FLIPPIN AWESOME Deadpool is! When I did the preview video I said he likely wouldnāt be one of my favorites with his huge emphasis on damage and his rush down nature. And that was my initial impression. I played a few games against expert Crossbones with some tough mods and I won all of those games in 3 turns or less. And considering you can start every single game with Exhausting Personality in your hand and so stun and confuse the villain from the start, they donāt even get to do anything! Fun for a laugh, but I could tell I wouldnāt want to do that very often.
Before I put him away though I wanted to see how DP faired in a longer game so I played expert Juggernaut and it was seriously one of the most fun games Iāve ever played of Champions. In a shorter game the Maximum Effort/This Card is Fire combo easily destroys villains before they have time to do much. Especially when you consider you can just search for the one you need in alter ego (which you end up in every time you get knocked out). If you can get out Endurance and/or Symbiote Suit itās just a foregone conclusion.
But when you play a villain with a ton of health (or in multiplayer I imagine) and you actually have to play the game of managing your health to get the most out of his events, itās unbelievably interesting and feels completely different from every other hero.
And that feeling of being indestructible is just awesome. Yes the acceleration tokens start to mount, but as long as you have It Aināt Over on the main itās really not too bad.
I played him in Pool and Justice, but I donāt think it matters much. I mostly just play his cards and Mutant Education to keep playing his cards. Iām absolutely shocked at how much I like Deadpool and I canāt wait to play him more. But only against longer scenarios from now on!
Ok it was fun playing but time to get back to work! The script is about halfway done so hopefully wonāt be too much longer! As for when I get back to normal productivity I have no idea. Considering how long itās taking to make this relatively simple video it might be a little while yet.

Well itās taking even longer than I thought it would to finish my AoA overview, so Iām gonna split it in half and the first part should be out tomorrow morning!

Hello everyone! Just wanted to let you know that between feedings and diaper changes Iām slowly piecing together my Age of Apocalypse overview. Not sure how much longer itās going to take but hopefully better late than never!

Welcome to Get Up and Game! where we like to start every day right with a game on the table! My name is Josh and I make solo playthroughs of board and card games. I like to try to inject a little humor and narrative into my videos so I hope you have fun while youāre here!
My favorite games are the Marvel Champions and the Lord of the Rings Card Games by Fantasy Flight Games, so you'll be seeing a lot of that here. But I might occasionally play other games as well whenever the wind blows another way!
As for me, I'm very much a beginner in the content creator world so I hope you'll join along with me as I learn new things everyday!
