Hello, everybody! I'm tossing up whether to ditch the text on my thumbnails. I'm curious as to whether text on thumbnails helps you decide what to watch or not. Could you let me know by voting? Thanks!

Remember, when you see *PAID PROMOTION* in the top left of a video, that person is getting money for reviewing a product and might not always have your best interests at heart. Use your judgement and keep a healthy degree of skepticism about the claims. For software, download a trial first to see if the product resonates with YOU. There's a lot of YouTubers that are simply going through the motions, collecting money and reviewing stuff is frankly, crap and/or not an essential purchase.

One thing that's been a consistent part of my development as a guitarist is adapting to challenges by experimenting with other methods. A recent example is that I discovered I can pick faster and cleaner when double-picking by starting on an upstroke. This is strange in that I've never practiced much of anything starting on an upstroke. In any case, it makes playing certain things much easier. Sometimes, you'll discover other ways by accident and at other times, by necessity. Try different ways and see if they work better for you.

PSA: Don't be taken in by the soy-faced guitar community shills debating vintage guitars and expensive models. You can do perfectly fine with an affordable guitar and having it set up by a quality luthier.

If there's one company I can highly recommend NOT buying from, it's AURORA DSP. The customer service is virtually non-existent and good luck getting things running if you have issues. Stick to Bogren Digital, Neural DSP and Line 6 and you'll be fine.

As it currently stands, the YouTube algorithm favors windbags, narcissists masquerading as gurus and clickbait. I can't help but get nostalgic at how interesting YouTube used to be before the homogenization.

Tip for making YouTube better. If you're sick of goofy faces on thumbnails, titles like 'I'm Done: Blah Blah Blah is Dead' etc. and ladies who flaunt their wares to get views, try Blocktube. I use it with FireFox. It's a great tool to make YouTube more focused and restores some sanity to the platform.
