The Crucifix vs The LHC.
Neither on its own is capable of holding credibility on the mystery of human existence/behavior.
Let's analyze this :
There is no such thing as morals. Morals derive neither from a divine source, nor human desires and preferances. It is an instinctual absolute.
Values becoming common across cultures is showing a desire for building relations (bonding) , but ultimately cultures differ so much from each other, that the values differ as well. It only shows that there is no such thing as a shared human nature.
There is an absolute correct way to behave - meaning that there are final justifiable goals - independently of desires.
A true value has its real foundation profoundly "outside" human nature, or even more accurately, exists in Universal Supernature ( human nature plus science of nature being a fundamental part of ).
