URIanimation is a group of students at the University of Rhode Island committed to producing animations and 3D printings that help facilitate the learning of a variety of topics in biomedical science. The idea was originally conceived in 2003 at the college of pharmacy. Animations are produced by student-faculty collaborations with the latest technology to explain difficult concepts in ways appropriate for scientists, students, and the general public. These topics are animated in vivid, detailed, and professional ways so that both viewing and learning is a valuable experience. These animations have been integrated into the lectures at the University of Rhode Island. Now the teaching-animation activity is expanding to other topics such as engineering, physics, biology etc. Check the URI animation website for more information: www.uri.edu/pharmacy/animation/. URIanimation is supported by grants from the Champlin Foundations. For contact, email Bongsup Cho (bcho@uri.edu)
