I tried really hard to record a review of the new episode of Lower Decks today , was all set to record after watching it but just couldn't . normally I'm sure I would have enjoyed it but under the recent circumstances I lost my sense of humor . also I was annoyed that the episode was suggesting that the evil robot villains can be redeemed/forgiven and released from prison so quickly and easily when they are in fact psycho killer robots who should be terminated.
I will try to record a proper review tomorrow

so when Soji activated the beacon in the end of season 1 of Picard that's actually what killed him since his brain was a sensitive receiver . so the timing of his death was not a coincidence but a direct result of Soji's actions

I just saw the season finale of Star Trek Lower Decks and it was great . I will upload a spoiler review later today. it will take me a while to gather all the pictures of the huge amount of references they made . the show also starts to stand on its own legs as well , bringing back things they previously set up and it all ties together pretty nicely in the end

I just saw the new Short Trek "Children of Mars" and it confirmed my biggest fear for the upcoming Picard Series.
it's supposed to be set when Picard is Admiral in the later 24th century and yet it is obviously set in the "Discovery" universe and NOT the "Prime" Trek's future.
All the visual things like the ship designs , special effects , filming style , writing and character behavior , are all in the "STD" style , even though it's supposed to be 120 years later but everything still looks identical to Discovery .
even School Buses look like Discovery shuttles (and Transporters are not for civilians I guess) , there are lens flares everywhere , forcefields look and sound exactly like in Discovery , and worse of all the behavior of the characters is entirely inconsistent with the enlightened bright future even though it's taking place ON EARTH of late 24th century, but the kids behave like bullies , while all the other kids seem to enjoy and encourage violence when they see it instead of trying to stop it .
so much for the enlightened society that Star Trek used to show us.
also there are locks on all the children's lockers which look like today's locks (where is the advanced tech? and where is the self discipline that was so often mentioned in TNG even in regards to children).
Teachers punish kids with public humiliation (displaying their private drawings for all the class to see) , there is a creepy Vulcan "discipline" guy walking around to keep all the kids in check and constantly 'scans/ identifies" any child he wants to discipline I guess , and this Vulcan guy is then is shocked and terrified when he hears about Mars attack even though he's a Vulcan who's not supposed to display any emotions but he clearly does.
apparently there are no Schools on Mars since parents who work on Mars send their children to live alone in a school on Earth.
also the female parent is shown to be great while the dad parent is bad (so once again Men are bad m Women are good message)
we see huge explosions all over Mars but only 3,000 people die , which makes no sense since Mars would be much more heavily populated by this time .
all the ships in Spacedocks look like ones we saw in Discovery .
This makes me very disappointed and worried for the new Picard show which I was always very optimistic about but the more I see about it the more worried I become.
I will do a more detailed review of the new short Trek in the coming days.
