Aid Alonso is a Long Beach-based artist originally from Spain. She began her music career at age 14 when a friend uploaded her rap recordings to the Internet, which went viral. Aid won the Heineken Greenspace music contest in Spain, leading to the release of her debut album, Jugando. This album garnered recognition in the Spanish hip hop scene and earned her several awards, including iTunes Single of the Week, Artist of the Month on Myspace, and the Marcate Un Squares contest by Kellogg’s. She has since released other works, such as Rapoemas, Hacer Lo Que Quiero, and Aprendeo, which was the most-listened-to song in the Galician language.
In April 2016, Aid participated in a TEDx talk hosted at California State University, Long Beach. In 2022, she embarked on a new music project with a more melodic sound, influenced by soul, R&B, and West Coast styles.
