Music fans around the world have come to know Renee & Jeremy for their hush whisper-folk covers of classic pop and rock songs. Solo artists in their own right, Renee Stahl and Jeremy Toback (also the original bassist of cult grunge band, Brad) combine as R&J to create a flavor of low harmony all their own... But what some don't realize is that the duo actually first came together to make lullabies for kids and families.
It all began in 2006, when Renee, who was pregnant at the time, asked Jeremy if he wanted to contribute a song to a lullaby record she was planning to make. Jeremy played Renee and her husband, Paul, a tune called Welcome to This World, which he had written for the birth of his son, Miles. Renee broke into harmony and Paul declared that the two must make the record together. They recorded It's A Big World with producer, Herb Graham Jr., in the room that would become Renee’s daughter, Amelia’s nursery... And the rest is lullaby history.
