This is my good friend Alan and his son Joey. Joey is a funny, loving boy. He has autism and Down’s syndrome.

Interesting fact: Alan adopted Joey when Joey was 1 years old. Alan is 66 and since Joey needs a constant support most of Alan’s life revolves around Joey.

In my books - Alan is a hero, representing unconditional love.. Alan does not think he is hero or even a great person. Adopting Joey came as a result of some very dramatic events in Alan's life.

I was very fortunate that Alan agreed to share his very personal story with me on Soul to Soul Show, something he has not shared publicly before.

I would recommend everyone to listen to it, to better understand how our circumstances shape who we are.

Let me know your thoughts once you listen.

After our episode, and short clips with Sotu blew up, my Jewish friends asked me - why would you give an air to a person who does not even recognize the state of Israel ?

Here is my two cents: I truly believe that most suffering comes from lack of communication, ignorance and inability to hear and understand where the other side is coming from. I believe that deep inside we are all good, and our conditioning and traumas often make us sway away from who we are. If we can listen, even when it is painful, we can recognize that on the other side is a person just like us.

I would not lie - this conversation was hard for me, as I have certain beliefs ingrained in me, however I am not afraid to challenge my beliefs and talk to anyone who has an opinion, to listen, to learn and to explore.

For those who feel that the conversation we had is very one sided, don’t you worry, we will cover perspective of the other side very soon.

❤️

Quite a few people told me, that they were triggered with a last episode I did on open relationships, some had heated debates with their partners, some even unsubscribed.

I absolutely love it! The goal of Soul to Soul is to make you feel again, to show the plethora of colours this life has to offer, so you have more shades to paint your own life canvas with.

Whenever I get triggered (this episode triggered me as well on many levels), I always look within, trying to understand what are the beliefs I have that make me so uncomfortable to receive other people point of view.

P.S. If you think this one was over the top, the next week episode takes it to a WHOLE another level
