About Aquarium Specialty
Aquarium Specialty began as an interest more than 25 years ago when I graduated from College with a degree in Biology. My first job found me in Richmond, VA and within one month of receiving my first measly paycheck. I trekked out and bought a 55-gallon salt water fish tank, 2" x 4" stand and some starter fish (under gravel sold separately). After the tank was cycled, I picked up a maroon clown and a yellow tang. Within 4 months I realized that a fish only tank wasn't going to be enough, so I began learning more about how to keep corals alive in captivity. Like a lot of newbies, I started with green star polyps, leather corals and mushrooms.
About twelve moves later, I found my wife-to-be in Charlotte, North Carolina. We picked up our things (two 55-gallon tanks, livestock and water) and moved to the hottest place on the planet, Columbia, South Carolina (or so it seems). Over the years, the tanks seemed to propagate much like the corals. From the hobby grew a
