Canadian Chinese Orchestra (CCO) is formed under the artistic leadership of Amely Zhou, and is a registered non-profit music organization. The CCO consists of music professionals and music enthusiasts. The goal of the orchestra is to challenge the boundaries of Chinese music-making by reaching out to different people with different identities, to create an equal and inclusive music-making environment for a diversified community. The CCO also serves as a platform for musicians to challenge themselves to new repertoires and ensemble playing. The CCO now has two sub-groups including the Canadian Philharmonic Chinese Orchestra(CPCO) and Canadian Youth Chinese Orchestra (CYCO). Chinese music is rich with Chinese philosophies and aesthetics. CCO seeks to share our love for music by collaborating with different organizations to promote Chinese musical culture and arts.
