Just recording voice over for a new animation that is nearing completion (80% done). Doing voice over is the worst part of the process - I think it's very common to not like listening to the sound of your own voice when recorded. I've done it enough now that my own doesn't bother me. This is nice! the trouble is always getting something that sounds ok for others (i.e. I enunciate well). Leads to lots of repeating the same sentence over and over (as shown below) hoping that one of them comes out ok!
That's actually a metaphor for a lot of life, though - our efforts don't always work out on the first try, but if we keep going, it becomes increasingly likely that we'll stick the landing at least once.
Let's see how I do here...

It happened overnight, but the channel finally ticked over 1,000 followers - a milestone that is about 3 years in the making.
It's been a surprisingly difficult journey. Most of the animations required months of work, with lots of 3d modelling and scene creation, research, script writing, rendering, sound design, editing, and voiceover involved.
When I first started, I really didn't know how things would go of course. It was an open question: will the video I'm working on do well? will people like it? will the YouTube algorithm bother to show it to anyone? It's all a massive unknown, but you hope.
As things would turn out, the algorithm largely ignored all of this.
Reddit was a powerful source of encouragement during this time. A couple of animations I posted there did incredibly well, and much more importantly for me, many people took time to leave overwhelmingly positive comments - so much so, I screenshotted many of them to keep as a motivator.
More recently (within just the last 6 weeks or so) I decided to post some shorts on Instagram and TikTok. Some of these took off, and lots of people from those platforms made their way here to sub so they can see what gets created in the future. This seems to have caused the YouTube algorithm to wake up just a small amount, finally.
I don't know how the algorithm will treat me in the future, of course, but I just wanted to express a big thanks to everyone who left a comment telling me what they thought.
The world is a truly fascinating place in so many ways, and we humans are remarkable creatures with enormous potential; it enriches my life to try and convey some of that through animation and story telling.
